I discovered some design software and have played around with a few concepts for the front cover of What Once Was Home.
I like the simple style of this design, and it conveys the feeling of Jace being alone in the mountain wilderness.
Again, the simple styling feels elegant to me, and the wilderness artwork fits the locations in the book very well.
Finally, this one is my favorite so far. The star-scape has a more science fiction feel to it, and the unassuming background really let’s the title pop. The figure at the bottom is grounded in his world, and the scope of scale here really expresses how small we are in the universe. It feels dramatic and humbling at the same time.
Well, there you have it. I’d love to hear any sort of feedback!
