B.K. is an author of science fiction, fantasy, and horror inspired by the pulp fiction magazines of the early 20th century and classic speculative fiction. He is a student of history with a particular focus on the ancient, classical, and medieval eras. He has a lifetime of experience with a specialization in business management and human relations and also served in the U.S. Army. When not writing or helping authors with their work, he is an avid table-top gaming geek. B.K. is owned by three cats and a Paperanian named Sassy.
He is also part owner and Acquisitions Director of Kyanite Publishing. He enjoys discovering new talent and helping them to bring their voice and vision to the people of the world. He is also the Managing Editor of Kyanite Crypt, a horror imprint, and Editor-in-Chief of the Kyanite Press, a journal of speculative fiction.
He recently wrapped up the first wave of The Ravencrest Chronicles, a series of nautical-themed novellas and short fiction in the dark fantasy and flintlock fantasy genres.
Other series by B.K. include The Burning Sands, a sword and sorcery series set in a world of eternal summer and covered by unforgiving deserts inspired by the works of Robert E. Howard; and Beyond the Veil, a series of cosmic horror set in the 1940’s and inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft.
He is also working on a science fiction novel called What Once Was Home, a very serious take on the themes of loss and maintaining one’s moral compass in the face of impossible decisions.
There’s some epic fantasy brewing in the background, too, but that takes time!
